Tattoos, What’s in a Name?

Tattoos, What’s in a Name? A Whole Lot More Than You May Think!

Nowadays it’s not uncommon to see name tattoos! Name tattoos are actually some of the most common tattoos there are at the moment. So if your thinking of paying a tribute to someone important in their life by having their name permanently inked on their body you should read this first.

Yes it being common practice but there is a reason for the controversy surrounding name tattoos.  There are two many people getting name tattoos without considering the long term consequences. We think in terms, as always and forever and we are to hasty when it comes to having someone’s named tattooed on our body?

Some good and bad reasons!

Why would you want to have someone’s name tattooed on your body? Most reason will come down to some type of relationships.  Sometimes people will choose to have the names of their children tattooed and others may want to show respect to a loved one who has passed away with a name tattoo.

Now here comes the most dangerous tattoo of all. You will find the vast majority of name tattoos are done in order to honour a spouse or partner.    How many times have you thought this was it, this is my soul mate. Male or female, when we fall in love, chemically and hormonally it is close to insanity and we don’t think straight.

Maybe the celebrities can show us the way? ;-)

If you look at Billy Bob Thorton and Angelina as one example, they had each other’s names tattooed onto their arms.  But this couple is no longer together.

Then if you look at Johnny Depp, he had Winona Forever tattooed onto his arm when he was dating Winona Ryder.  This did not last either! But I love this; he had the tattoo changed to read “Wino Forever.” That’s class, or my sick version of it!

In the End it’s Your Choice

Whether or not you get one is really a personal choice!  But are you really willing to have someone’s name tattooed on your body for the rest of your life?  Ok, if the relationship fails you can just pick a partner with the same name, how hard can that be :-)?
